At the Ministerial Meeting on Prices held on July 13, Minister of Strategy and Finance Bahk Jaewan mainly discussed ways to reinforce the stability of aT (Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation) agricultural products’ supply and demand, the current status, results and plans moving forward for supplying consumer information, and ways to stabilize vacation season summer resort prices. More

At the 24th Crisis Management Meeting held on July 4, Strategy and Finance Minister Bahk Jaewan talked about the employment situation in June, while stressing the importance of monitoring the small- and medium-sized enterprise business environment and of taking advantage of China’s growing domestic market. [FSC] Fn Hub Korea Shortens Immigration Process for Foreign Investors (July 8)
Fn Hub Korea, a unit under the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) and the Financial Services Commission (FSC) has implemented an improved finance investor express card system, effective July 2012 to ensure a shorter immigration process and streamlined procedures, thereby allowing convenient immigration entry privileges for foreign financial investors. More


[BOK] Economic Outlook for the Second Half of 2012 (July 13)
GDP growth is expected to come in at 3.0% in 2012, below last April’s forecast of 3.5%. More


[BOK] Monetary Policy Decision (July 12)
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Korea decided today to lower the Base Rate by 25 basis points from 3.25% to 3.00%. More

The month-on-month growth rate of Broad Money (M2, seasonally adjusted, period-average) registered 0.3%. More

As of July 10 the KOSPI was down slightly compared to the end of May, while having responded sensitively to evolving euro area risks and fluctuated within a wide range. More


[BOK] Household Loans by Depository Corporations during May 2012 (July 10)
Household loans by depository corporations rose by 3.2 trillion won in May, slightly more than the increase of 2.5 trillion won during the previous month. More


[BOK] Producer Price Index during June 2012 (July 9)
The Producer Price Index fell by 1.4% month-on-month in June 2012 ? in year-on-year terms it rose by 0.8%. More
